The studio at Greendolphins Glass is where artist Duncan Stewart creates, and displays, his pieces of kiln-formed (fused) glass. Visit the studio to view the pieces on display and learn how they were made. 

Explore Scotch whisky and its fascinating heritage at A. D. Rattray Whisky Shop, located in the beautifully renovated old village school. 

Saks & Hart offers a beautiful range of furniture, home accessories and gifts. Specialising in home interiors and gardens, browse the range of beautiful furniture, mirrors, lighting and home accessories, elegant gifts, lanterns and fragranced candles. 

Built on the site of the old school house where Robert Burns studied in 1775, Souter’s Inn offers coffee, snacks, lunch and suppers. This thatched roof Inn has exposed brickwork and oak featuring throughout.

Kirklands House & Garden and Post Office is a unique and inspiring place to browse unusual gifts and plants, with lots of friendly advice. The well filled courtyard garden is home to many interesting and beautiful plants, creative displays, filled containers and baskets and a great range of hardy seasonal plants, shrubs, trees, alpines and perennials.

Visit Souter Johnnie’s Cottage, home of the shoemaker immortalised by Robert Burns in Tam o’ Shanter. This property is managed by The National Trust for Scotland and features the works of local artists which are available to buy.


World famous golf course

The village of Turnberry is world famous due to the Turnberry Resort and Golf Course. The course, which was built in 1904, includes two championship courses and the Golf Academy, attracting golf enthusiasts from all over the world. 

The resort also offers a beautifully refurbished ESPA Spa.  

Enjoy a walk to Turnberry Lighthouse, built in 1873 and located beside the ruins of Turnberry Castle, thought to be the birthplace of Robert the Bruce in 1274.


Seaside village with a little harbour

Maidens is a beautiful little seaside village. The harbour is home to several boats, with the beach attracting locals and visitors all year round. 

Ideal for kayaking and paddle boarding, Adventure Carrick can provide equipment and lessons.

Wildings Restaurant is open daily for lunch and dinner and Ropes' is a new bistro located in Maidens overlooking the harbour and Maidens Bowling Club

There are plenty of coastal walks nearby, with Culzean Castle and Country Park being just a short distance on foot or by car.


A seaside town with a long sandy beach, boating pond, cafes, restaurants and bars

Take a trip to Ailsa Craig on the MFV Glorious. Also known as Paddy’s Milestone, Ailsa Craig is home to around 70,000 gannets making the island the 3rd largest gannet colony in the UK. 

Enjoy the great outdoors with local activity specialists Adventure Carrick who offer a huge range of sports including kayaking, coasteering, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hill walking and foraging to name only a few. 

Girvan Golf Club is a popular links course right next to the sea.

A walkers paradise, the Ayrshire Coastal Path runs 100 miles along one of the finest panoramic coastlines in the British Isles taking in Girvan, Turnberry and Maidens. 


The birthplace of Robert Burns

Enjoy a walk around the gardens of the Burns Monument and a stroll along Poets Path to Burns Cottage. The 15th Century old Brig O' Doon was made famous bythe tale of Tam O' Shanter. The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum celebrates the Scottish poet’s life and works. 

Rozelle Park is situated just outside Alloway. This historic estate features the original 1760s Mansion House, The Maclaurin Art Gallery, Rozelle Tea Room, as well as Ponds, Woodland Walks, and vast Playing Fields.

Rozelle park is used every Saturday for a Park Run, and hosts football and rugby training and tournaments, orienteering, dog agility competitions, and music festivals throughout the year.

The nearby Belleisle Park has two golf courses, child play areas, lovely gardens and woodland walks.
